Who stays and who goes?

Thanks to you, I come here for most of my Sooner news.

Yes, it was so out if the blue. I thought we had a good team to start year but not a title team. Felt if we can just finish 500 in SEC then maybe win some games. We ended up 14-16.

But the mid to late season they really struggled. Cam stopped getting starts (he was day 1 pitcher). Felt it was a lost season.

And then the magic happened. We had to beat GT twice in a row to advance. It was the GT final game when it just turned. We were down 7-3 in B7. And then scored 2 in B7, 1 in B8 and 1 in B9 to tie. Then Tockey hit that blast in B10 to win. And from that point on the team just rolled.

Pitching really came in strong and it was all true freshman. Never seen anything like it, to have such young pitchers be so composed with all that pressure. Truly was a cinderella run. I was so frustrated how we ended the conf play and then lose only game in SEC tourney.

Those can be the best seasons because we had no expectations after conf. Sent on road to 2nd best team in country. So many great teams ahead of us.

It proves as fans that a run can come out of nowhere and we probably should be less critical of our teams during the season. But as fans it’s hard, we all hate to lose and seeing our team struggle is hard.

I’ll cherish the title run and it was so exciting and tense as well. Everything fell into place at once. Players never gave up and thats a great lesson for me the fan to learn from.
