You would think our WR's would run some curl or wheel routs to get some separation downfield. We just run out of throwing range or stay covered.

Wow, we won! Coulda been much bigger but we must take what we can get. Mateers best game for OU but coulda had more. We somehow still made it a 1 score game, and fans had to sweat a bit.

If OU had Mestemaker we’d be 6-1 and who knows how GA game goes with a real QB. We’d be title contenders, such a shame.

Glad we won but vs a better D he doesn’t get those long pass conversions they were both lame ducks way under thrown. We have WRs open every dingle play.

Offense had a better day but too many open receivers not seen, penalties, missed FG's etc. I think Setagna and Beers are the only players down field Mateer sees. He did make a few good passes to the safety in the flat when others downfield were not open. It's a win. Hopefully USC's fat and happy with their win over Tennessee and it takes some of their edge off.

One of the podcast I like to listen too after games.
Sounds like the flu has been working its way through the team.

Brent Venables notes that Oklahoma’s 467 yards today is the most they’ve had in an SEC game since joining the conference

Based on that 23 pts isn’t good enough. Gotta do it again next week vs a good SC team.

I got my flu shot mid September. Sounds like maybe they didn't.

There are no easy games remaining. We could win or lose every game, and I have no idea what will happen, but I think best case we're a 7 win team. Highly disappointing.

Man did you get that right.
Their back-up QB is a walk-on freshman, if I understand correctly.

MSU defense is weak.
Even against a weak D, we still stalled out in the RZ.
A LOT of points left on the grass.

They allow 27.7 ppg, we only reached 23.

About that MSU defense:
According to Google Gemini:
"The Mississippi State Bulldogs defense ranks 86th nationally in total defense (allowing 392.0 yards per game) and 83rd in scoring defense (allowing 27.7 points per game) among FBS teams during the 2026 season"

I had it one year about 20 years ago and felt like I was dying. That was enough for me. I get the shot every year and haven't had another problem. the main thing it does is prime your immune system so if you do get it, the symptoms aren't as bad. I'm a believer, but I no longer get the Covid shot. That bug has lost its sting.

The only shot I’ve taken in the last 20 years is a Fireball. Never been healthier.

Everyone reacts differently but the flu shot gave me temp symptoms right away but then I’d catch flu a month later. Ask doc why and he told me flu shot only works in 2 strains. Since its egg based it takes time to make and every flu season they guess which 2 strains will be most popular.

But since its decided months before flu season so much can change and he said there were 90+ strains of flu running around the world.

Anyways, since I stopped getting them once I retired from Navy I’ve never had the flu except a mild case a few years after. Been many years and I feel healthier than ever now.
