I just watched magic dance on YouTube (the version with lyrics). I forgot about the baby slapping part.
All of the movies I liked as a kid are really kinda pervy.

Speaking of classic 80s kids movies, anyone remember Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas? I wish I could link it but I can't on my cell phone.

Haven't seen that one. I'll check it out! Sounds like something I'd like.
Now that you're on Christmas, let me move the discussion to Halloween.
Does anyone remember the made for TV Halloween movie Mr. Boogedy? I've tried to find this movie on DVD for a long time and have failed. Super awesome movie.

Not Halloween specific, but Stephen King had some great horror short story moviles in the early and mid 80s. Stephen King's Cat's Eye, Creepshow 1 and 2, and Twilight Zone The Movie

I own it and I'd let you borrow it if you were a neighbor...

For some reason Labyrinth hardly ever gets shown snu of the networks pr movie channels. It happened to come on once a couple of months ago but you rarely see it on which is a shame.

HBO used to show incredible movies in the 80s and early 90s.
Now they focus less on awesome movies and more on incredibly awesome original series.
Remember how exciting this was:

I wish I was a neighbor. I still can't find that movie. I haven't really tried to find it online. I have 450 channels, including On Demand. You would think that I would be able to find it. Redbox doesn't have it either. I guess I'm just gonna buy it on eBay.
You really stirred up some shite with this thread.

I really miss that HBO opening. Brings back a lot of memories. Speaking of HBO, anyone remember Fragle Rock?

We read Watership down as a class in 8th grade. The book, of course, is a thick motherfricker and only some of us were just barely mature enough to understand that it was less about rabbit colonies than it was different political/social ideologies of living. In other words, it was entertaining but hardly memorable... until our teacher showed us the movie.
Holy shite, Watership Down is fricking hardcore.

Twilight Zone The Movie
I had nightmares of the gremlin on the wing for years.

Cat's Eye
First saw this when the Turner South channel was still on (loved the hell out of that channel; played Thrashers games, Braves games, Swamp Thing, In the Heat of the Night, and movies like Cats Eye and Critters. It's now Sportsouth.)

Creepshow
I knew I'd like my Freshman and Sophomore English teacher in HS when I walked into his room and he had this poster hanging above his desk:

I don't know, I read it on my own around that age and thought it to be pretty memorable. Never so the movie though I'm inclined to go look for it now. Always loved the name "Rowsby Woof"...
