I hate you. Or hake you. One of the two.

Well, I usually fold laundry, and Aggiebelle is bad about leaving her socks inside out Hers are usually either the tiny ankle socks, which are no big deal, or the ABU boot socks, in which case it's actually easier to tell which pairs go together if they're inside out.

I do all of the laundry here because my SO is a spoiled upper middle class kid who never learned to do it himself and still, somehow, survive through undergrad. He's not allowed to touch the washer or dryer. Period.

It's an admittedly fluid situation with us

He would not have survived in my house growing up.

I don't want my clothing to be turned into a color that wasn't purchased.

Did I mention that he's also an only child? He's never had to do much for himself.

Problem identified

Poor Cat, you have your work cut out for you on the home front

Mrs. T is the oldest of two, but might as well be an only child. Her family is not very tight-knit. Lucky for her, I know my way around laundry machines and the kitchen

I'm the oldest of three, also not "tight-knit."

It's been an adjustment. A five plus year adjustment.

What is it with females and containers?

I swear, the most excited purchase wifey made last week was when she got upright storage units for shoes/boots

Tbird, what Catfan said is the answer - containers store the mess. ... We females don't want to be slobs, & those glorious containers are the answer, if we can just get organized enough to get organized. ... Hopefully, Catfan & The Container Store will motivate me enough to stop just thinking about it & drooling over the containers and actually start putting crap in them.

The ONLY reason I clean up is to make her happy.

There's one about fifteen minutes from me. Up in Sandy Springs. It's a bad thing. Before we moved to Decatur I was within walking distance of Ikea though. That's worse. I have to be really fricking motivated to go anywhere in Atlanta traffic.

Yeah, we do have an Ikea, & I have to watch myself in there. I like that place way too much. Thank God they built it by the Mall of Louisiana, which is a traffic clusterfrick always, & the one thing that will keep me away from shopping. I only went to the mall once for Christmas shopping only bc Pottery Barn & Williams-Sonoma are in it. Since IKEA is right behind the mall, I went in for a bit. Didn't do too much damage since I was Christmas shopping for others, but saw a couple of things I'm wanting to do maybe with tax $$$. ... I've got a couple of friends who live in Decatur & really love it. They moved there after college. ... Several of my friends from my hometown live in GA, actually, mainly bc of GP. Peachtree City & Newnan is where most of them are, & one lives in Savannah in a beautiful home on gorgeous property. It's just incredible there, but I think I'd hate the climate 24/7. I can barely stand SELA's.
quote:

Pinterest is my addiction... and the bane of my boyfriends existence.

I love it as well, particularly for recipes. ... And from what my friends tell me, your bf isn't alone in his hatred for Pinterest. I don't have to worry about that anymore, not that I ever would've with my ex.
quote:

Uuuugh. Our closet is far too small right now, even though it's a walk in. The boyfriend has more shite than I do. He has about eight suits and their accessories that take up most of the space. The closet is the one area that I hate to deal with.

The Container Store has everything that you could ever need though.

My new home's master closet is smaller walk-in than the house I moved from, but since it's just me using it, that's fine. It's got tall ceilings, so there's lots of space for containers on the shelving above the hanging clothes. ... It's hard for me to organize a closet of any size bc I try to do it so things are easily accessible, but I never can accomplish that. Hopefully, TCS will help me out with that. ... And damn, your bf has a lot of suits! Y'all might need his & hers closets. ... At least he wears them. The ex would bitch every time he had to put one on, and it's not like he wore them everyday for work, so Idk why he griped about it so much, but it's a huge turn off to me when a guy just despises getting dressed up at all, even every once in a while. Used to drive me nuts, not in a good way.

My wife is definitely no slob. She's an anal-retentive neat freak. Won't even leave the house unless all the beds are made. She keeps her car clean. Mine, on the other hand, is pretty bad.

Nah, not shallow. Y'all are both getting what you want; give & take just as it's supposed to work - it's a win-win!! ... You BOTH sound like y'all have got it together & work together which is great because it's literally fighting a losing battle when only one does, and the longer that goes on, the more resentment, bitterness, & anger build up. Good to know you & Mrs.TB are doing it right & enjoy working together for each other.

I try to keep my true a-hole nature under wraps around her

Nah, she's better than what I deserve, so I don't mind putting in the work in the relationship to keep her happy, and she does the same for me.

Still got our troubles like any couple, but life's good and we're tryna make it better.

... Oh, I'm talking about one NEVER EVER wanting to wear a suit, not even to functions that it is the ONLY appropriate option. It's just ridiculous!! Seriously just baffled my mind; it was like a kid refusing to get out of his favorite football jersey & put on a dress shirt for school pics or something. ... I'm sure you aren't that bad.

Eight is a lot?

Of suits? ... Probably more than average for a guy who isn't required to wear them to work everyday. Most men don't wear suits to church every Sunday anymore unless it's Christmas, Easter, a funeral or wedding, or some other formal occasion at church. Now, it's khakis & a collared shirt, mostly, and a sport coat is considered "dressy." ... I guess if a guy likes to wear suits, it's not a lot. I love suits. My mother used to manage a men's clothing store when I was growing up, & I used to love helping her put together the ties, belts, & other accessories. Doing tux orders was fun, too. The tacky crap some females picked out for the guys to wear was hilarious. The looks on the dudes' faces was priceless when they'd put them on for fittings. Maybe that's why I love men's suits so much now. Still love picking out ties.

We are completely opposite. But she helps me keep my head on straight and I help her loosen up.

It works. Most of the time...

Yeah, it's supposed to be fun to dress up for a special event or night on the town with your SO!! I mean, going to a Mardi Gras ball, or a huge formal Christmas or NYE party in a hotel ballroom in Nola would be fun for most people, right??? Even the men would enjoy it, right??? WRONG!!! ... Oh well, sigh ... I get to enjoy it now with someone who's a grown up & actually likes doing that kind of thing every so often.
