That's how it starts.
Fifty years ago people were paranoid of the government placing microphones in their homes and listening to them 24/7. It was something they imagined happening in the Soviet Union, or reading about in 1984.
Now we go buy them.
The key will be convenience. Once it seems convenient and cool everybody will be lining up to pay to get micro-chipped. It's going to happen.

I have no doubt. Convenience is why people have their credit card information in their phones and why we have voice search on everything now
My boomer tendencies will keep me from getting a chip probably, but that wont prevent others from doing it

You called yourself a doomer yesterday and I was unfamiliar with the term. After looking in to it I might be a bit to old to fit in to that but I'm kind of with it.

Millennials are getting split up quite a bit into sub age groups Im somewhere between boomer and doomer in mindset.
Age wise, doomer.
I catch myself thinking "that's not how it would've been when I was younger".

Crazy things. But I don't believe all would be true, and tbh I haven't looked into it yet, so I don't want to say something ignorant before I know. I will say it was one of those cheesy 5 min YouTube videos titled - 10 conspiracies about 5G- or something equally cheesy. But it did spark some interest in looking into it sometime. Big things were associated to like a skynet, power with 5G & capabilities, and more towers needed in the US.

Those are usually shite but I've seen some interesting stuff as well. Nothing sinister, just cool. Like possibly launching thousands of small satellites to provide/improve coverage.

I think they intend to take us back to the gold standard soon.
Also, we are, at this point, closer to things going south than most realize. However, I doubt we see anything like bloodshed because the people running things are pretty brilliant.
As far as moving forward and chips go...Bank on it. It is our destiny to merge with machine it seems like.
Imagine everyone being chipped and someone installing an AI "God" on the interwebs. Then imagine augmented reality, except you're not looking for monsters on your phone ala Pokemon Go, but instead you can interact with this God with your waking eyes.
It's a sure path to peace.
