So you don't want to say what you do for a living? I'm genuinely curious.

I wouldn't be surprised, given Lexington is a prescription pill ridden dump of a town.
But seriously, what is so bad about giving me at least your industry? I am genuinely curious how much of your hard earned tax dollars go to Shakita and Jose in comparison to me, a registered Democrat.

A. I have zero vested interest in getting into an Internet penis measuring contest. I owe you zero explanation, and frankly do not give a flip if you do make more than me. If you do, first of all kudos, you've done something right with your life. I am 32, own my own house (3,000 Sq ft) and three vehicles all paid for. I am most certainly middle class. I pay my fair share of taxes. If you're in the upper 5% of this country and are footing the bill for most everything (and are OK with it), then that is certainly your prerogative and I think you're nuts for doing so willingly.
There is an enormous difference between helping out your fellow man who genuinely can't help himself v being legally compelled by forced government legislation and watching that money that could be yours get misused by the "beneficiaries" and the government at large.

Something I've never understood is how liberals trumpet evolution and survival of the fittest yet balk the moment it's rules are applied to society at large.

You're the one who brought up your kids (who I feel sorry for btw, assuming you have or plan to have children) paying for my food stamps. Your broad assumptions regarding people, race and political leanings, in my experience, is indicative of your level of intelligence.
Do yourself a favor, and get out more often. There's more to the world than UK basketball and the occasional trip to Keeneland when you get that end of year Christmas bonus. Maybe you'll learn something. You're still young-ish.

Please provide an example of me doing this. I assume this was directed at me. Try to keep in mind I don't believe politics are as black and white as you.

Just because I make a crass statement where you wouldn't has zero bearing on my intelligence level. It's an internet message board where we all blow steam and screw around. I don't particularly care for the pomp and circumstance of some gentleman's debate. If we were out for drinks and wanted to engage in a debate I would compose myself accordingly. As it is, this is the internet.

Well this has certainly been entertaining, if nothing else.

Now then...You don't see the irony/paradox/conundrum in the fact that (using stereotypes....Please try not to start a hunger strike on me over it) the theory of evolution (Yes I accept it as a fact, it seems patently obvious in 2016) is trumpeted by liberals who tout knowledge above all else. Yet they are the same who want to implement government practices I order to prop up the weakest of our kind. Conversely conservatives are typically the religious zealots who think the Earth is 6,000 years old and that evolution is heresy, yet claim to follow Jesus who would certainly advocate helping those folks.
Just pointing out the irony.

Numerous crass statements combined with your political views, for clarification. Your post comparing liberals and conservatives was filled with false information, that you obviously did not fact check.

Nah, it's called rhetoric.

I'd argue that man is intellectually superior to any other creature on the planet, and have evolved to a level in which we are capable of feeling compassion. Another concept that the we've evolved into accepting is monogamy. It isn't natural, and it hasn't always been viewed in the same manner as it is today. Yet through evolution, again, we became more compassionate and emotional.
I, as a generally liberal minded person, would prefer to help prop up someone who is facing difficult times as opposed to step over or on them.
I also do well enough for myself, and am smart enough with my money, that if a percent or 2 increase in my taxes means a homeless man suffering from bi polar disorder, PTSD, etc can get a warm meal and a bed to sleep on, then I'll be fine. Or if Shakita's kids are able to eat something decent, that's great too. You see, Shakita's kid didn't do anything except be born into a shitty situation. One that I was lucky to not be born into.
I may care about earning a good living, but I also understand that one day I'll be dead, and what I contributed to society is far more important than how much I passed on to my probably already spoiled children.

That's just not true, and I do not appreciate your assumption!

there is no football board. But if you're referring to the SEC rant, I don't recall seeing racist posts on that board. At least, not as blatant as yours.

Counterpoint to what, exactly? You misrepresented liberalism, you essentially proclaimed you could be a bigot "because this is the internet", and you mistook my rhetoric for lambasting you. I've no idea if you get a Christmas bonus nor if you bet on horse races. It was quite literally rhetoric aimed to rile you up.
Anyways, I answered your question(?) regarding evolution above.

It's not really irony. Your initial comment implied it was largely blacks and Hispanics on government assistance based on your use of a stereotypical black and Hispanic name. His comment based on your intelligence was simply based on that comment, evidence you yourself provided with your comment, and through his own experiences with people that make similar comments.
Based on the back and forth since it appears you're more intelligent than those initial posts would suggest, and you're just an immature a-hole that gets off on making borderline racist comments, then claim it's just internet when called on it.
Whatever floats your boat.

DaFuk? Then what in your mind is a successful economic policy?
Lots of people think trickle down economics works, but does it actually work? The answer is that it depends on the situation.
Wealth can be used in one of two ways. It can be spent on goods and services (consumer spending) or it can be invested. If you have an economy that lacks investment capital, then lowering the tax rate on that money can spur investment. That's Economics 101 and it sometimes works in very poor nations. But in Economics 201, you learn that economic relationships are not so simple.
One thing that we know is that as consumer spending decreases, so do the number of investment opportunities. You could have millions of dollars to invest in a business, but if you have no customers, your business will fail regardless of the tax rate. I'm not saying the tax rate should be high or low. I'm saying that, when an economy is sputtering because there is too little consumer spending, the business tax rate is largely irrelevant.
Lowering the business tax rate won't put money in the hands of consumers. What puts money in the hands of consumers is demand, demand for their labor. Businesses don't hire employees because tax rates are low. Businesses are not charities. Businesses hire employees because the economy demands that they do. Businesses hire employees because they have more customers than they can handle, and if they don't serve those customers, their competitor(s) will.
The thing that should be obvious, that people seem to not understand (because ideology often overrides common sense), is that functional economies need a balance between investment and consumer spending. If the solution one proposes for every economic problem is to lower taxes on businesses, doesn't that seem more than a bit silly? You might as well be telling people that the only tool you'll ever need is a hammer. "Screwdrivers are for immoral libtards!"
Where does the US sit on this spectrum? Does it have too much consumer spending and too little investment? You already know the answer to that. Trump wouldn't have won the Republican nomination if the problem was too much consumer spending and too little investment. Bernie Sanders wouldn't have given Hillary Clinton a run for her money if the problem was too much consumer spending and too little investment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people in this thread have said that income inequality isn't important. That is incorrect. It is important, and not because of fairness or any other such nonsense. It's important because economies expand when money is flowing. When wealth is concentrated in fewer hands, there is less flow (GDP growth slows). It's really that simple.
