So one of my favorite reactors on Youtube (A good way to kill an hour while I'm eating or what not) went in for cancer surgery today. She's been battling it for years and she's mostly over it but much better safe than sorry.

Naturally today is when someone hacked her accounts and briefly turned them into a Bitcoin sales front. Both of her accounts were deleted and unless she can can get them back... 500k subscribers and over a decade of content gone. And since you make money on there by the number of views and subscribers you have...

There would be fatalities if that had happened to me. I've worked the gig economy and let me tell you, when it goes bad it goes bad real quick.

No pics because she uses a cartoon avatar after the cancer battle.

Never trust a fart after 40

Never trust content you do not own on your own server

FWIW, the "cloud" is a server farm, not actually "stored" on some safe and secure cloud.

This puts things into perspective.

It is sad how some humans treat others.

That's awful. Seen it happen to a couple of accounts lately.

Most often they just have to start over.

One of the better college football and basketball highlight channels (maybe Wheels?) had to do that a few years ago, and somehow eventually got his original channel back.

The larger platforms like YT don't seem overly helpful in what could be a clear-cut procedure to reverse, either.
