And mushrooms and marijuana lead to stds and staph because you're too stoned to use protection and/or shower.

I will, but only under the pretext that you admit you are the exact same person, whether drunk or sober.

No you won't. For the past couple of hours you've proven that you don't have to ability to face your own words. You're not.

You said "it helps you get laid". Those are your words. That came from you. When you respond, you'll not respond with an explanation of your own words, you'll simply evade again.

It helps you get laid with gross girls that drink and likely smoke cigarettes. Booze and cigarettes lead to abortions and Jesus wept.

I think I did. The title of the thread, "why do folks get drunk", does differentiate IMO. I didn't ask about casual drinking or drinking responsibility.

People who drink casually and responsibly get drunk. I think that's where you are having an issue with most people.

There's a difference in getting drunk and getting so drunk you are throwing up or blacked out. No one likes getting to that point. People do that just because they over did it.

Ouch, that really hurt. I mean, mentioning Jesus and everything, ya know. Throwing in baby killing was especially hurtful.

This is gonna leave a bruise!!

You can get drunk and still not do it excessively or ridiculously.

You can put back a decent amount of alcohol and get drunk while turning down the beer bong, excessive shots, ect.

Though I've never tried either, some make the claim that mushrooms and marijuana can be educational/enlightening but they can also be destructive and the cause of death

Neither have caused death in the history of the entire universe. No really, they've never directly caused a death ever, forever ever, ever ever.

The question of "why do folks get drunk" relates to excessive alcohol consumption, not getting 'high' from substances such as mushrooms or marijuana.

Well you must have been drunk when you wrote your OP, because you definitely threw in mind altering drugs into your narrative.

PS. Thank god you don't partake in anything that might lower your brain cell count. You have zero to spare.

Because I reject your premise?

That is one reason, yes. I will gladly respond if you admit your premise is faulty and stupid.

There's a difference between having a drink and having drinks which changes one's personality, thinking and behavior.

I badly wanted to think that this was just a troll thread for entertainment purposes. Seeing people defend their own favorite bad habits is always worth a laugh. Unfortunately I'm worried that you're actually just a moron.

Obviously. There's also a middle ground where you are drunk and your personality hasn't changed.

That makes no sense. If you're drunk, you've consumed excessive alcohol.

Study after study has shown the possible, and sometimes probable, adverse affects of marijuana and the physical/psychological risk of 'magic mushrooms'. "Never directly caused a death" is subjective and must be considered in the long term effects those substances have on one's mental and physical condition.

I grew up in the 60s when all this junk exploded in use and I have friends who have used both, especially marijuana, and they have suffered from the long term use of the substance. I've seen the effects firsthand.

I already explained to you how it can happen and you accepted it. I'm now done because you're obviously just arguing to argue at this point.
