Why'd you skip over my response before the ape theory post?
And why'd you give a short dismissive response to Weagle?
Seems like you don't really want to discuss rational answers to your OP. You just want to push some anti drinking agenda, or you're trolling.

Let me go back and look at it. I'm not much on ape theories.

You're not going to explain how it 'helps you get laid' though, are you?
Because I won't explain it if you keep holding to this stupid premise.
A car can be going 20 miles an hour, 60 miles an hour, 100 miles an hour, on pavement, a dirt road, a wet road, it could be parked in a driveway, a garage, or it could be parked in the middle of a field. It is still a fricking car. Just because the conditions someone is in and around change, doesn't make that person fricking different. Would you act the same if you were dropped in the middle of a foreign country, naked without clothes? No? Are you magically a different person? Your ideology is moronic and simplistic and you are just a stupid, stupid, person.

Great because it was the post before that post. Has nothing to do with apes.
And don't give me that sarcastic shite.. the ape theory is scientific. The brain did in FACT grow more during that time than any other, and by far.

You should explore the stoned ape theory.
The human brain grew leaps and bounds during a time period that we know psychedelic mushrooms were a fixture in human diet. The brain grew more during this time than any other.
Intelligent enlightened folks tend to believe that psychedelics are an accelerator pad for evolution.
Are you suggesting that alcohol consumption to the point of drunkenness helps humanity become smarter?
I see multiple studies where excessive alcohol consumption has very adverse physical effects on the body and especially the brain.
This is from the DHHS...
"We do know that heavy drinking may have extensive and far–reaching effects on the brain, ranging from simple “slips” in memory to permanent and debilitating conditions that require lifetime custodial care. And even moderate drinking leads to short–term impairment, as shown by extensive research on the impact of drinking on driving."

Did you seriously just do that?
I think you're drunk, to be honest.
I said my post before the ape theory post. I've said it like 3 times now.
You sir, should definitely not drink. You're a dumbass sober.

You can't be this dumb.
Considering my post said mushrooms not alcohol, no I'm not proposing alcohol makes you smarter.
In your OP you addressed mind altering drugs. This was a counter to that segment of your OP.
Now.. only if your dumbassness can find my post before the ape theory post we'd be golden.

Tell you what, why not get it, post it again, and I promise I'll respond. So that we can be sure it's correct.

For one you didn't differentiate between drinking alcohol responsibly and doing it excessively.
Mind altering drugs? You again didn't differentiate between the types of drugs. There are drugs such as cocaine and meth that may be fun but destroy the body and brain. But drugs like mushrooms and marijuana can be educational/enlightening drugs while not harming the body or brain.
That was posted on page 14. It was a response to your OP.

Now, I'm really convinced. I'm never drinking again.

I think I did. The title of the thread, "why do folks get drunk", does differentiate IMO. I didn't ask about casual drinking or drinking responsibility.

Though I've never tried either, some make the claim that mushrooms and marijuana can be educational/enlightening but they can also be destructive and the cause of death. The question of "why do folks get drunk" relates to excessive alcohol consumption, not getting 'high' from substances such as mushrooms or marijuana.
