Why all the hate on U2 and Bono?

In my last post a bunch of people said they wanted to terminate Bono and/or U2. I like U2, and I'm cool if that's what who you pick to terminate. But why though?

Because people are into fads. It's the in thing to not like certain bands no matter what. Just like the over saturation fad of it being cool to love bacon. It's hollow opinions to fit in.

I had no idea it was a fad until recently. I thought I was alone for the past 20 years. If I was into fads, then I should be into much different music.
