Which state around the LSU area will be next to offer recreational pot?

Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, or Mississippi. As for now, we have to drive to Colorado or Illinois.

Arkansas,
We are becoming surprisingly liberal about pot here. I still think the "it's the Devil's Lettuce!" folks are too strong here for it be legal for recreational use in the next couple of years but it certainly seems to be in the cards.

You'd think Florida. They're missing out on some big tourist dollars.

I go to Mountain View ark 2 or 3 times a year. I was floored to find a medical marijuana shop there. You can't even buy a beer there but there's pot. Don't have a card so I just drive pass. Also have a wife that thinks it's the devils lettuce.

I would think Louisiana would be first. Most of the political power is New Orleans. The Chocolate city could maybe pull enough votes.

But our alleged freedom loving governor is staunchly against it.

It will probably be Arkansas.
I have access to so much stuff now, its kinda stupid.
Older people who never would have bought weed, now use it regularly for pain relief, etc. Oklahoma's medical laws are practically just registered recreational, it's so easy to get and so cheap. I know people who have gotten cards across the state line. I have two family members who have medical cards here in Arkansas. Both claimed "anxiety".
I believe we will have it on the ballot this fall.

It will not be MS, there is a medical marijuana bill up now, but the governor and the house and senate are not on the same page.

Arkansas voters passed medical in 2016, but the legislature fricked around with it for two years. We were VERY close to passing medical in 2012.
I could see us passing recreational. The anti-Dem sentiment here right now means we have a legislature full of fundies, so they'll fight it tooth and nail, no matter what the voters decide.
Medical here has loosened up quite a bit since it was enacted, at least in practice. In NWA and in western Arkansas in general, the proximity to Oklahoma and their laws have made it where pretty much every single person I know has gummies and smoke. My 70 year old parents who voted against it have discovered the pain-relief aspect of it and keep it around.

Prolly arky.
In the meantime, you can get a 30 day oklahoma license for $100. There is no list of conditions, etc., to qualify, either. Insomnia works. Maybe some phantom knee/back pain. Whatever.
They say the quality is very good and pricing great in OK.
