Washington Crossing the Delaware

That painting has a funny history. It was painted by a German, depicts Washington leading an expedition to massacre Germans on Christmas, was kept in Germany, and then destroyed in an Allied bombing raid in WW2.

If we're doing statues and sculptures my favorite statue has to be "The Motherland calls" LINK

It's in Volgograd Russia (Stalingrad of old) and is roughly the size of the statue of liberty.

Yes, the tribute to our iron/steel industry is indeed awe inspiring.

You picked the two goofiest pictures, it doesn't look all that bad from other angles.

Absolutely degenerate. Great art ended with Romanticism.

Mine’s probably Storm on the Sea of Galilee by Rembrandt. Not just because it’s a great painting but it was stolen out of a Boston museum about 30 years ago and its location is unknown. Just has some mystery to it.

If it were ever recovered there is no telling what its value would be after all the media attention.

Nothing wrong with burning a bowl every now and then.
