Intuitive may not be the best word.

What I mean by that is that during the demo the guy was telling us that if a soldier was separated from his unit, the uniform would guide him either to his unit, or to the next objective based on which direction he was moving. Course correction.

Pretty savvy stuff for 2003.

The Rangers and other special ops get the good stuff.

The uniform we were shown had a Google Glass type technology as well. Glasses that you wear that allow you to pull up maps, orders, thermal imaging, the whole nine. Again, back in 2003.

ETA: At the time I carried the M204 and I was flabbergasted by that thing. They also have smart grenades. Like, you could use your uniform to program a grenade to detonate in mid air. So if you wanted to kill a bunch of people standing near a window but you didn't want to actually detonate the grenade inside the building, you could tell the grenade to detonate just outside the window. Crazy shite. And with the ability to see through walls so you could shoot around corners. And not blindly either because your laser scope would show up on thermal imaging. You could just stick your firearm out around the corner and get a head shot without ever having an actual line of sight on your enemy.

I walked away from the EXPO telling myself that when all soldiers have that gear, they'll be invincible.

Oh yeahhhh that’s him and you mentioned Luther- he just gets better with age.

Did I hear they were doing another season or Luther or maybe even like a one two hour thing or something? Could have dreamed that...

not sure about Luther, but if you haven't check out Beasts of No Nation.

He's in that and it's awesome.

Ever since the wire I always try to watch something that he's in.

Anyone here ever watch The Dictator?

I don't think it received much fanfare, but the one part in the movie where Sacha Barren Cohen asks the black dude where he can find 500 child soldiers was hilarious.

"Excuse me, sub-saharan, where can I find 500 child soldiers by 5 pm?"

There were a lot of good jokes in there, but I agree.

Borat is probably a top 10 all time great.

Also made us a little famous.

I like dropping that as a "fun fact"

We started watching a show on Starz called The Man in the High Castle. So far it seems real good. It imagines the US as if the Axis powers had won WW2. The Germans own all of the East coast to the Rockies and the Japanese own the West coast to the Rockies. I kinda wanna binge watch it, but I don't have the time. Good show.
