Well it's not and it pisses me off when i see these fat arse sloppy mother frickers buying up 40 bags of lays six 12 packs of coke, the most expensive steaks, cookies, crackers, candy of all varieties, 20 dollar cheese, and then throw a god damn fit when their $40 pre-prepared (and therefore not qualifying) lobsters are not covered under EBT. It's fricking disgusting and to make it worse they can just get cash back and buy w/e the frick they want. And people wonder why there is a dependency on gov't programs in this country.

So, you're okay with handing your hard-earned money to someone and them buying alcohol with it while they have 3 kids starving at home?
Was it proven in the above example that the woman had three kids at home starving?
I don't remember that tidbit being a part of the fact pattern.
But, even if it was, yes, I'm okay with her right to do that. Does it make her a shitacular parent? Yes. But you can't force people to do the right thing. Even if you forced her to use the card for food, she'd turn around and barter it for alcohol if she wanted it bad enough.
I know people who make a living buying and selling food stamps. Where there's demand, there's a market.
Don't you love when capitalism and socialism combine?

Forcing her to use EBT on food at least assures the money is being used for what its meant for. Not "let me get $40 cash back so i can go buy some crack".

Just about anything they want if they go to the right (dishonest) place. Anything from drugs to cash.

No, it doesn't. Read the second sentence you quoted.
Bartering happens all the time. For alcohol, drugs, whatever.

The money is going directly to food though. What they do with the food is their own business.

So you're okay with them doing whatever they want with the food, but not whatever they want with the vehicle used to purchase the food?
So you don't really care whether they get the necessities they need or not. You just want the façade of the program working the way you think it should.
Logical argument.

I charge for that, & I don't accept EBT. In fact, if someone tries to pay me with an EBT, I'll shoot them in the fricking head.

It's our money they are using. They should use it the way it is intended.

Wanna know how I know you are being stupid?

I realistically know that people are going to cheat the system if it's possible. It's the American way. The gov't should not make it easier on them by allowing them to get cash back and such.

How much you bringing in a year?

Because I'm debating semantics about something I really don't give a frick about with someone I really don't give a frick about?

He buys them for 50 cents on the dollar and sells them for 75 cents on the dollar.
Not a bad payday.
Of course, it's illegal as shite, but that's neither here nor there.

I wish stores would just refuse to accept the cards as a statement to our Gov't that reform is needed.

Or we could just quit voting in the mother frickers who keep giving out handouts without accountability or responsibility.
Of course, the "we" that vote also includes those that get the handouts, so not much chance of that anytime soon.

Then we wouldn't have anybody to vote for.

Said this on Poliboard earlier. Attack the root cause of the majority of America's problems, and STOP IDIOTS FROM SHITTING OUT MORE KIDS. Get rid of the infestation by finding the fricking nest, and burning it.

I still hold out hope that some of the people currently on welfare are only doing it because of the poor economy and they have no choice, but still hold the integrity that if the economy improves they would find a job and go back to work.
Look at the large numbers of people who can't find jobs and are leaving the workforce because they give up on looking...we got to get jobs available to those people and hopefully entitlement spending will decrease as we return to those truly in need and the percentage who just use the system (which really isn't as bad a problem I don't think nationwide..just where we are from its a problem).
If good jobs are available, many of those people will leave the welfare system for greener pastures, leaving behind only those who are fat and lazy and misuse the program, and the truly disabled/needy.

Unfortunately a lot of people think a good job is only one that pays a lot and doesn't require a lot of work. The American dream evolved from a roof over your head, food on the plate and freedom into a mansion exotic cars and no responsibility.

That's what I spend my money on. Why can't she do the same thing?
She can spend money on what she wants to spend money on whenever she decides to earn it. That's the problem. No one wants to get off of welfare. That's what needs to be fixed. It's not our obligation to make their life normal. It's our obligation to help them want to make their life normal.

All I'm saying is you can't blame her for wanting beer
Not at all. Can't blame anyone for wanting beer. I can blame them for making the state pay for it though, and I sure as hell blame the gov't for allowing it.
