I know you're just messing around. But I contend the same attitude which leads to these puppycides is the same thing in the OP.
Lack of awareness, hyper-responses to perceived threats, perception that the job is more dangerous than it is, and a host of other issues.

Agreed. It's a shame how much trouble people can get into for obstruction of justice or failure to notify knowledge of crimes, when that is what cops do every day.

Union is part of that. Some of it is just the natural camaraderie of a job. Some of it is the pension. And some of it is that they work on the inside of the justice system and can easily manipulate it.

Not every cop doing it every day, but it is happening with cops all over the country every day.

I kinda feel bad for guys like you. You're probably very capable and intelligent and you get lumped in with the ahole yelling racial slurs at the Nail salon owner and stop and frisking black kids in the city.

Eh... Its not as rampant as the infowars crowd would have you believe.
I will say prostitution stings are a waste of time though.

And cops getting shot in the line of duty isn't as rampant as the police flacks would have us believe.
What's more likely to happen today? A cop getting shot in the line of duty or a cop shooting a mentally ill guy wandering around with some odd implement like garden shears or a screwdriver?
I'll give you a hint. It's not the first one.

The Memphis cops completely abandon the areas that need real cop work until there is a murder. Just like they do everywhere else.
