Hampton was supporter of KKK which did kill people.

Byrnes did make positive comments about lynching in the 1930s or so.
i see nothing wrong with the rebels nickname though. people take history too seriously.

FWIW, Lattimore, who is obviously their most well known alum (other than SCDawg, of course) , was against it. And well...as y'all all have figured out by now..he's a black dude.

SC also named their newish fitness center after Strom Thurmond.
