Thinking about taking a quick trip to Austin with the wife. Looking at 4 days probably the 3rd week of June.
Researching places to stay has been a bit overwhelming, but I think I've narrowed in on a Holiday Inn near the governor's mansion and the Citizen M in downtown. Would either AREA be ok? Should I avoid both, or either?
Kind of an impromptu thing with no planning (not my style). So - what are some things to definitely do (including places I should definitely eat) and/or some things to avoid? TIA.

Holiday Inn in Sunset Valley a pretty good bang for your buck.

There's nothing good about Austin since they defunded the police.

I'm trying. That's why I came to the OT board. What did I do wrong?

If you don't get timely information, perhaps try cross-posting on the Travel Board?
Here are some previous threads, for example.
Regardless, come back afterwards and let us know how it worked out (assuming you survive).
