reputuation is not my opinion. harvard and ivies are viewed as liberal arts schools by engineering employers.
moreover, most harvard and ivy league kids go to graduate and medical and law degree even if they get undergrad in engineering. they love school. they generally aren't even applying to the same kind of jobs as grads out of large state universities.
the ivy league schools are tiny at the undergrad level, it is crazy how often they come up given they are small and the tuition is a ripoff. and how many people want to go to school somewhere that is cold.
Most middle class kids go to a public college in their state. So comparing CLemson to Harvard is pointless comparison. lol

Interesting dynamic.

No that is considered a fact to everyone with a brain.

how come you don't follow any specific SEC team? that is so weird given you are captain SEC.

ok, there is no need for me to discuss engineering education with you given you aren't an engineer and most likely did not attend college.
generally the US News zealots that i've encountered are people with little education. it is obviousto most educated people that US news ranking criteria is random and essentially does not prove one college is better than another unless you agree with the things they focus on.

Cannot argue with an idiot dude. I'd get out of this argument with him now before you waste more if your life arguing with someone with the IQ of probably 80.

says a low iq redneck who posted a pic of a girl's butt on an internet forum, and thinks CLemson is just students from the local area, because he views universities as similar to pro sports teams, because he didn't attend a university or if he did, it was a community college.

Lol I went to Georgia.
One last question:
If a 22 year old right out of college is interviewing with GE against another 22 year old out of college and everything else is the exact same (degree, GPA, personality), but one went to Clemson and one went to MIT...
Who is more likely to get the job?

one question for you, do you think engineers at companies looking to hire base decisions on US News?
Say the hiring manager is a CLemson alumn working at a SC employer, you think he prefers MIT over Clemson? Because the US News does?

I asked him the same question in a different thread and he couldn't answer it. He just kept changing the subject of suggested they'll pick the Clemson one.

Okay I'll add in that the hiring manager has no connection to Clemson or MIT. It is some guy from Texas.

Also follow up question... Do you know what GE stands for?

i think they going to focus in on degree, GPA, and engineering license, and specific work experience. i can't see a good candidate being ruled out simply because he went to Clemson.
you still haven't specifically articulated what goes on in the MIT classroom that doesn't happen at other accredited engineering programs. it must be something magical. Are you saying Clemson engineering professors don't have a clue, aren't qualified to teach engineering?

Nope but it's not a world renowned university like MIT.
So gun to head, everything the same. Does the employer pick Clemson kid or MIT kid? I just want the answer to that. Say Clemson or MIT.

says a hick who isn't an engineer but talks about engineering programs like he's an expert.
WHy don't you apply to Harvard for a marketing job for them. You sucking up for free now.

Just say Clemson or MIT. That's all I'm asking.

i don't think most employers look at that way. I know I don't.
this is my point, your whole world revolves around US News. if somebody disagrees with that mindset, you get mad about it.

i hate people who have no independent knowledge of something who run off at the mouth about it simply b/c they saw a list in a magazine. you are a brain dead parrot.
i think the Clemson engineering program would kick your dumb redneck arse. the US News people won't be there to help you out on the exams.
