He just seemed uncharacteristically tentative. Definitely not the terror he was in '11. And Tim was in beast mode that series, too, so that was just a bad combo.
The story I have heard on the local radio is that Pop put a lot of effort in figuring out how to stop him after what happened in '11.
When this years past years series is discussed people seem to gloss over just how close Games 2 & 3 were.
I think we had the lineup to beat y'all or at least make the series closer, but what was usually the case Lionel refused to play it. The lack of minutes spend by Tony Allen chasing around Parker were not nearly enough. Plus he played Tayshaun WAYYY too much.
I think the 2 things we were missing most that series have thankfully been addressed in shooting from the SF position (Mike Miller) and a quality back up center (Koufos). Now if we can add Mo Williams

Let's put it this way: I've called every Spurs sweep since '99 except for last year's WCF. That should NOT have been a sweep if Hollins gets his head out of his arse a couple of times. He had the lineups to win games and hesitated for some reason. Hesitation is death against San Antonio.

Which is a crying shame, IMO. People see someone one a series in 5 games and just assume the winning team dominated, when that's rarely the case in the NBA.
Hell, I was more nervous during our sweep of the grizz than I was against the Warriors last year for that very reason.

Liar you freaked vs GSW
You had to be convinced to let Steph get his and not let KT kill them.

I was nervous, but I knew he was hobbled a bit and was assuming he'd cool off at SOME point

ETA: Jesus Christ I still don't know how we won game 1. That comeback probably won us the series.

I knew the JJ won series and the West after huge comeback. I remember calling the comeback WCA and Flaker fans called me dumb. I could see Frenchy and the D figuring out the run outs.
GSW will be better this year but lose first round. The Leisure Suit gave people the map to beat them

It was just one of those weird games. They hit everything they looked at, and our O was a little off. Once shots started falling and the D tightened up just a tad, we were fine.
fricking Manu still tried to give the game away, though. I wanted to kill him for shooting that three
And I DIDN'T want him to take the game winner, either.

Of the top 6 teams in the West I think they scare me the least. They have no inside game to keep up with us and lets see how well Steph shoots with Tony Allen chasing him around for multiple games.

Steph is scary only because he stays hot. I've never seen anyone who can sustain the hot hand for that long.
The lack of an inside game is their undoing, though, like you said.

Did Lee and Bogut stay?
Bogut isn't great but Lee scares me as he's solid

Pretty sure they're still there.
Lee has a crazy high ceiling IMO. As solid as he is now, there's some serious untapped potential there.
