yep. if magic is 1, kobe is 1b. to be able to say "you can make an argument that i am the greatest laker of all time" means a whole lot more than it does in 99% of other north american professional franchises. dwight expected to come to LA and have everything handed to him. not realizing that we are the fricking lakers and that he was going to have to earn his dues behind one of the 10 GOATS just like kobe had to way back in the early 2000s. fricking idiotic, immature, selfish piece of shite who isnt 1/100th of what shaq was

Imma co-sign this entire paragraph.

look back to every big time playoff game shaq was in with the lakers. game 7 of the 2000 wcf, game 6 of the 2000 nba finals, game 7 2002 wcf, etc. he ALWAYS showed up. he was going to win no matter what. to even think people have compared dwight to shaq is a fricking disgrace

fricking. this.

Dwight should have this entire paragraph tattooed on his lower back so when Kobe goes in dry for the rest of his career he'll have a spot to aim his golden championship jizz

easily one of the best moments in my personal sports fandom

ETA: Were those not the best days ever, when Shaq and Kobe didn't hate each other?

easily. the western conference were awesome those years which always led to great playoff series. i told tbird this. 2000-20004 and 2009-2011 were all so much fun. cause even though we didnt win in 2003 or 2011. both of those time spans you just had the feeling going into each game that there was no way in hell we were gonna lose

which is why 2003 hit me so hard. i had literally never seen us lose

i still dont know what happened in 2011. that was a good team that just fricked up in the playoffs. we had no business allowing the hornets to take us to 6 and i still hold that we were better than the mavs. ive never seen a phil jackson coached team absolutely shite the bed like that. we might not have beaten the heat, but we should have won the west for the 4th straight year in 2011

I'm glad I didn't have cable that summer. I would have probably gone crazy if i had actually watched the games

Don't worry, you weren't the only one who took it hard....

it was unreal. in the dallas sereis, we had double digit leads in both game 1 and game 3 and then in game 4, they had the greatest playoff shooting game of all time. i mean i just dont know what happened. i really do think that whole run was divine intervention. the spurs were better, the heat were better, we were better....it had to be divine intervention
