I have taken several shots in the chest from a young colt and about killed me (thankfully it was heavy winter and I was heavily layered) so I hope that dude was OK.

Brother, if a significant portion of the things you say here are true, most of which I tend to believe, you (seriously) need to write a book.

People have been telling me this for years but nobody believes it. Was at a VERY expensive dinner for doctors and vendors (got to go free as I could dance and carry a conversation). Big enough event the band at the event was big deal. Was telling stories and got up to make a bathroom run and did not find out the conversation while I was gone till the next day.

I think they were rounds of 12 so it was me and the doctor who invited me plus couples for the rest of the round. While I was gone they told the doctor what a vivid imagination I had and where did he find me. He told them we had know each other since we were in diapers and his brother was my best friend growing up. He then told them the stories were all true except some minor changes to protect the privacy of those involved. I was not there but apparently their jaws all dropped at that info.

I am old
Folks were more engaged with each other
No social media
Trains took days so you met all kinds of folks and had the time to engage them
Most importantly being from the South means things just seem to happen more

I told you the best place for price and quality was the grapevine if you were OK with it being a bit warm.
