Can You Die By Pooping? For some men, there can actually be some danger involved in dropping a deuce - Men's Health
How can straining on the toilet kill you?
Fainting on the toilet is a real medical problem - but doctors say it can be avoided
Straining while defecation can and does lead to death every single day but it simply isn't reported.
Some experts believe that if properly recorded, straining while pooping deaths could account for the third leading cause of death in the nation, behind heart disease and cancer.
Be safe out there folks.
Don't strain.

Strange as it may sound, there’s a pretty well established link between dropping a deuce and dropping dead. In fact, a Norwegian scientist published the first case report on the relationship back in 1968.
quote:
"Defecation syncope" is the official term for fainting while trying for No. 2. In Canada, syncope accounts for approximately one per cent of all emergency room visits, but it is not well established how many of these episodes can be attributed to defecation. Some patients will not admit to it, and some doctors do not ask.
quote:
Valsalva maneuver … occurs during straining to pass a hardened stool. If defecation is suppressed over long periods, problems can occur, such as constipation or stool impaction. Defecation can be facilitated by the Valsalva maneuver. This maneuver involves contraction of the chest muscles on a closed glottis with simultaneous contraction of the abdominal muscles." This means that people can die while "straining at stool."

So the dump of death isn't an urban legend? It was on an episode of a thousand ways to die years ago and I wondered if there was truth to it.
Now I know. This is gonna ruin the peace I get from dropping the browns off at the superbowl

Definitely not an urban legend. I myself have had my share of brushes with death while on the pot. One time I strained so hard everything turned white and I saw a bright light but I didn't go toward it so I'm still here.

I saw an Opus comic years ago. The penguin is staying in some hotel and meets the ghost of elvis. They talk for a bit about stuff and then Elvis says he's gotta go cause "the seat's getting cold"
found it
Its from september 2008, over 10 years ago. I feel old and I aint that old

It kept things clean and helped ensure morals in children. I miss the good ol days of no sale of alcohol on Sundays and no day light savings time.
Much better than a discount Weimar republic

Stay hydrated, eat lots of fiber, and... if all else fails... drink a six pack of beer. You won't have to worry about straining on the ivory throne though you might accidentally poop out your spleen.

Valsalva maneuver is actually used quite frequently in the medical field bc it slows the heartbeat and helps with tachycardia.

A friend's uncle had a stroke while pinching a loaf. The uncle said he thought someone shot him in the back of the head. He had good reason to think that.. the uncle was a big mafia guy in New York.

I used to work with a guy who insisted that was how he would die. Shitting out his colon.
Apparently he has a perforated colon and there is nothing the doctors can do about it. He says the doctors say it's because he drinks too much diet coke. I told him maybe he should stop drinking diet coke and he said it's too late. That the damage is already done.
