Dumb question but sure.

1. It will deter some (not all) people that want to commit murder thinking they're gonna get 3 squares a day for the rest of their lifes regardless.

2. It will cost less money if we execute them quickly as I said earlier. I'm not a fan of my tax dollars going to feed and house these parasites. I'd much rather have them going to killing him.

So you believe that murder isn't wrong?

Strongly support and believe it should be applied way more than it is.

Murderers (not only 1st degree, but also crimes of passion), rapist, anyone that would harm a child (such as rape), etc.

I truly believe that one of the reasons crime is still high today is that criminals aren't scared to go to jail. If we were to have a criminal system that made people absolutely terrified to go to jail you wouldn't see nearly as many crimes committed.

I support it 100%. Justice is not murder. If you've been convicted of an incredibly heinous crime, you forfeit all rights to the state in my book. That includes the right to life.

Not to people who commit it, hell no. The whole, eye for an eye quote.

Oppose it, even though some probably deserve it. If you oppose abortion, I feel you have to oppose the DP

Why?

An unborn baby hasnt done anything that justifies ending their life and has no say in the matter. A murderer chose to do what he did of his own free will and I believe the state is justified in taking his life.

No. Murder rates have gone down substantially in the last 20 years (LINK ), despite more states moving to abolish the death penalty,

Thankfully, we have one of the greatest judicial systems in the world. We do our best to make sure any innocent souls do not slip through the cracks, thus leading to costly appeals.

If there is a death penalty, there are some innocent people that are going to die for crimes they did not commit. This may be 1 person or it may be 1,000 people. I'm one who would rather 100,000 murderers live their lives and die of natural causes in prison than to definitively end one innocent person's life.

You realize that when this was laid out as law for the Israelites in the Bible, it was a call to a more civil society. People got killed for everything back then. Taken out of context, this shite can do a lot of damage.

Obviously, we've progressed as a society since then. Most of us anyway.

Not to mention the fact that Jesus himself blatantly rejected "eye for an eye"

Comparing a innocent baby to someone who's commited murder is indeed idiotic. But great addition to the thread.

Either murder is murder or it isn't and if it isn't, then why are we murdering people for murdering people?
