No offense taken. It just seemed like a weird criterion to determine if one would like a particular line of smart phones.

I'm not set on switching, just trying to determine if I'd notice a huge difference if I did decide to switch. I'm not married to the iPhone. I like it mainly because of familiarity, but not having or using any other Apple devices I sometimes feel I'm being inefficient. Seems switching to a smartphone more compatible with the Google products I use would be a smarter move.

You won't notice a huge difference. The layout and transitions you'll get used to quickly. Most of the functionality in terms of how to navigate is the same.

If I were to switch, it would most definitely be to the Samsung brand.

Before I bought my first iPad not to long ago, I thought seriously about switching to Samsung and getting the phone and tablet.

That's partly just me having issues with needing all of the things possible be one brand.

Spleen, I use Google, too, and I haven't had any difficulty at all with my iPhone/Google mix. If you like your experience with iPhone, I strongly recommend the new 6, not the big-screen 6+. It's a pleasure to use.

If google and apple could do some collaboration the possibilities would truly be endless.

You're gonna love Droid ... I just moved from RAXR to MotoX and it was a slick and easy transition. I've still got an iPhone that I use for business but I'll be dumping it as soon as my contract is up this coming fall.

The wife has an iPhone and a Blackberry. She had one of the touch screen blackberries until just very recently now she's gone to the new one that reminds both of us so much of the old Blackberry platform with the great keyboard.

Of course, Blackberry really stole all of that from the Palm Treo, which is what I carried for quite a while some time ago.

I've just really come to appreciate the Motorola Droids. This MotoX is super nice and I put another Otter case on it with the hope this one will last as long as my previous two RAZRs lasted ... and, honestly they could have kept going. They were still working well after three years.

Honestly, I've never really tried. My iPhone does sync with my office laptop and my Outlook calender, but I just prefer the Google calender. Maybe I should look more into getting a setup I like with my iPhone. I have the 5 and it works fine, so I'm not looking to make a change anytime soon. Just something I've been thinking about, and really it stems from my hatred of iTunes. Which I never even use anymore.

What do you use instead of iTunes?

All the music I listen to nowadays is either streamed from Spotify or spun on my turntable. I have a couple of albums on my phone from iTunes that aren't on Spotify so I use it when I want to listen to them.

Oh, I gotcha. I never got into Spotify or the other one. I have about 85+ GBs on my computer of music so I have to use iTunes.

I switched from iPhone to an S4, and lost a lot of integration (car, playlists, etc...) but slowly found workaround apps. The camera was way better on the S4, and the OS wasn't locked down. At the end of the day, I switched back to the iPhone simply because of ease of use, and it's integration with so many other products. I was also getting shitty battery life on my S4.

I say give it a go, and make the switch. You can always switch back, and you might actually like the Android OS better.

Didn't think of car integration. We have a Ford with Sync that my iPhone connects to. I assume and Android phone would still connect, but probably should check.

I have an iphone and an ipad, but I also have Lenovo as my major customer. So, I also own several android devices.

I would recommend installing Nova Prime Launcher right off the bat, download from the google play store. (payware).

Download the swiftkey keyboard (payware).

after that, its pretty clear sailing. I like both. I have iOS on my ipad and my iphone and Android kitkat on my tablets.
