I wish him well and have a little anecdote to support why - and this is about him not me.
In 2010 I was living in the NOLA area (MS) working in DC a lot commuting back and forth. One Friday afternoon I got on the United non-stop flight from IAD to MSY and a few minutes later a guy sat next to me, settled in and we started talking. General chit-chat - "headed home" - "me too" - "been a rough week"....yada yada....as we were taxiing for takeoff we exchanged business cards - I did a real double take when I read his card - I had heard of him but since he wasn't my congressman I didn't know what he looked like - anyway, we continued chatting the entire flight - sports (LSU/BAMA), family, politics, the grind of commuting - he wasn't pretentious or full of himself - just a regular guy and quite pleasant - as we were getting off the plane, he turned around and shook my hand, we wished each other well and went our separate ways. So yes, I wish him and his family well - he is truly one of the good guys -

I wish him a speedy recovery and no lasting physical problems.
I also wish for America a long period of peace without mass shootings. When will we realize that crazies and guns don't mix? Mental health issues should play a crucial role in a person's ability to have access to guns.
