It's been a long few days. This is the first chance I've gotten to really just sit and relax, and I've got a flight out of Atlanta to KC in less than seven hours.

I can't complain about the trip much. It isn't every day a college kid gets a full trip comped just to attend a few meetings. Just wish I wasn't about to have to make the drive over to ATL in a few hours.

Yessir. Took all expenses paid trips to Detroit, Shreveport, and Japan while I was in college and enjoyed every single one of 'em

I had a trip to NY this winter that I had to figure out the transportation there but everything else was comped I guess

Can't say I've ever woken up and decided any of those are places I should visit, but I'd go in a heartbeat for free. Same with KC this weekend. Not the most exciting town, but it's one I've never seen and it's no money out of my pocket.

Detroit trip happened to be during the World Series in '06.
Shreveport for a TAMU Independence Bowl where I got to stand on the sidelines.
Japan was a ROTC trip. Got to spend a couple nights in Tokyo

Crazy thing is before I got the letter that I got into a&m, I was going to visit UA. The very day I was supposed to be in Tuscaloosa was the day the tornado hit. We got my acceptance letter from a&m a week before the visit so we cancelled and I did spring break with my family in NY instead. Crazy how shite works out like that sometimes

Only been to one KC BBQ joint, but it was pretty legit:

They have multiple locations in KC.

Damn man. I'll never forget that day. We got out of school around lunch because of the weather (I lived a little less than two hours from Tuscaloosa). I went to my HS girlfriend's house and we pretty much sat all afternoon and watched the tornadoes live on camera. It was terrifying. Thankfully nothing hit my town or the immediate area, but it's a day that I don't think anyone from Alabama will ever forget.
