When I was a child in the 70s, my parents just didn't say a lot to us kids. Those rare occasions when they did, it paid to listen. I think the problem these days are the helicopter parents constantly trying to tell their kids what to do and what not to do. And then not to mention all of the bullshite parents tell their kids today in some kind of effort to get the kids to believe them. I hear my BIL doing it all the time. Half the shite that he tells kids in bullshite, no wonder they eventually stop listening to him.

Because young people don't fricking listen. And I'm not a Boomer.
They refuse to obtain and/or cultivate logic skills, and they believe that's easily compensated by rolling their eyes.
And God forbid if it's a young woman you're dealing with, because then you're "mansplaining"
Do old people listen? I just think in general people don't listen, but old heads love to forever and always say young folks don't listen. Sure they dont, but old people can't take advice.
Take every old person I have ever tried to teach how to use technology. They'd rather tell you how they can't do it, or how bad tech is...instead of listen to helpful advice that they asked for
