Can one become so subsumed in alters that the personality of the original ceases to exist, thus the alters are no longer alters?

My name here is actually an alt name...from a different forum. I signed up with it as a joke that this would be my alt name if I was to make an alt on the other forum. Unlike this place, that place actively detected, shamed and banned alts at the time.
I haven't posted on that other forum in over 10 years now. It changed ownership, new owner was shitty, told him to go frick himself and never posted again. Been posting here since.
