Once i finish up with my masters, I plan to obtain a job (hopefully at the state/government level) then try to work on my PhD.

Straight up, I am contemplating the masters route. Problem is I dont know what the f I really wanna do. The more time I invest in what Im doing now, the harder itll be to get out tho so I need to start thinking about it a little harder I guess.

ETA Any particular reason you wanna do govt work?

Yea.. Dont wanna wait to long going back to school can be kinda difficult for some.. You ever thought of maybe becoming an NP?

Dunno.. I kinda like working on that level.. Pay scale is competitive, benefits, promotions, travel, etc..

I have but I dont wanna stay clinical really. I think I would prefer the biz side more if I stay in healthcare. Now that I have gotten the taste of mgt, it would prolly be my preference. I have thought about getting out and going into finance and investing or starting a business. Im not worried about going back to school if I ever need/want to, just have to figure out what I wanna do.

Yep in the near future my goals are to get off work, have a beer while the sun rises, and catch some z's. Then I can worry about that other stuff another time. Has nola been everything you expected since moving there? I have a bunch of friends that still live there so I try to make it back pretty often. It has always been one of my fav towns. I just always felt I could never live there because I wouldnt get anything done.

Thats the spirit. I think letting a location find you instead of you seeking a location is a good way to find a cool spot.
