I'd never post a picture of myself on the Secrant. It's an anonymous board for a reason. I don't want anybody on this board having the slightest idea who the hell I am.

Eh.. most of these type of threads are thinly veiled attempts to get the female posters to post pics of themselves. Mostly due to the male posters wanting to know if their imagination of what said female poster looks like matches the real thing.

Might want to lay off the catfishing TV show a bit.
The only known catfishing story that I know of since I started posting on this site was a male catfishing a female. Hilarity insued. People were banned. Fun times for all.

I am absolutely a female.
And the pics I have posted on here are absolutely me and not a googled or doctored image. There are lots of ppl on here who are on my twittter and fb accounts. I have zilch to hide and don't really give a rat's arse if y'all know what I look like or who I am. And I am far too old to be pulling the "catfish" routine. That whole phenomenon is incredibly stupid IMHO. Why do it? It's pointless.

Home school kids are by and large much more intelligent than public school kids. If the parents take it seriously.

It really all depends on the parents, like you said. Their investment spurs the whole thing--there's nothing magic about homeschool vs. public school, obviously.
There are plenty of stereotypical weirdos in the homeschool ranks (trust me, is well-adjusted homeschool grads make fun of them, too
), but most of us you'd never guess were educated that way, because the parents that commit to doing it the right way do so to educate from a holistic standpoint, not just to keep their kids out of the school system.
Very blessed and thankful my mom was extremely invested, very intelligent, and very resourceful to get my siblings and I the best there was to offer educationally growing up. Of the nine of us kids, five of us are either in college or graduated from college. I'd say she did alright

Ditto. That's why I made up my mind awhile back to post in here and on social media in general the same way I talk/act irl. Putting on a front or maintaining a schtick is just tiresome to me. It's not hard to figure out who I am anyways, so the pretense of hiding got to be pointless.

Actually, I am in my 40s. It's just a matter of taking care of yourself and being blessed with great genetics doesn't hurt, either! I not-so-humbly submit that I look better in a bikini now than I did in my 20s...and that I'd give 90% of 20ish year old girls a run for their money even though I am in my 40s. Don't believe me? Here's the LINK to my twitter account.My avi is a pic of me (on the right) and one of my 1st cousins at the beach here in SC ~5 months ago. Again, I have no problem posting the link bc at least half of the regulars on here already have access to my twitter and fb pages. Matter of fact, Tbird is one of those on both pages. I would hardly add ppl from here to my fb acct in particular if I wasn't who I portray myself to be...all of my family members and my closest friends from elementary school all the way thru my years at USC are on my fb page.
ETA: And Tbird..you are SO correct!! Hell, my very 1st day on tRant back when I first joined 4 yrs ago, there was a dude (cannot remember his name, but he was banned for this) who, within 15 minutes of my very 1st post, responded with my IRL married and maiden names, my email address, my home address and a pic of my house using google street view. I had inadvertently used an IRL pic as my avi (didn't know any better) and he traced it and used my IP address to locate all of the info he posted. From that point on, it was sorta useless to try and remain anonymous.
