quote:meh. most aren't particularly happy with the salary but his salary does not handicap us in building a team for 2016 so I think most people just accept it. not to mention hes been a laker longer than he hasn't and people are already starting to talk about him over taking magic as the greatest laker of all time so yea, not the best reception to the salary but its accepted
Wca, is the general laker fanbase happy or mad about Kobe's situation(injuries, salary, comments, etc.).
in regards to his injuries, most people expect him to be back and hit the ground running in 2015. obviously you don't know how hes gonna do but most people expect him to come back and do everything to be the same kobe
in regards to his comments, are we talking about his comments about the current laker management? cause most people agree with him on those

It will happen, as long as we can fricking keep AD for a second contract. He seems to have taken up the mantle for the team and likes representing the city, but we gotta start getting better attendance for the weekday games.
Hopefully a healthy Holliday will help the team make some waves next year and we can win a playoff series and make a bit of a run within the next two years and resign him.
If after the second contract we aren't close he needs to get the frick out of here and go win a championship.

I think JJ's have something new planned with Splitter. They're showing him high way early this year.
Not sure to call it a hunch or a guess or just wishful thinking. But I have a sneaky suspicion that they will run the Russian offense and switch HP/LP on same set. That will make someone like Bogut, Griffin, Howard get put into mismatch every trip down with no real answer.

West ain't getting any weaker. Pels will be a solid team in short order, but it's gonna take some good fortune to win the conference just like everyone else tbh.

Btw i wonder if the "boring" label will get stuck to the Grizz now that the Spurs finally seem to be shaking it in the eyes of the casual fan. Memphis ball reminds me of the defensive oriented Spurs days that caused people to call us boring to begin with.
When we played the Bulls on ESPN a couple weeks ago all they talked about during the game and halftime was just how boring it was. Then they get suddenly surprised when all of these high-powered offenses are knocked out of the playoffs early.
We had 6 players last night with 3 or more assists last night. Some might even call it Spurs-esque.
I am really looking forward to hopefully seeing what a full season looks like with these guys after playing a year under Joeger. When you look back at the start of the season and how they struggled a lot of it had to with them installing a new offense. Guys often looked confused and we turned the ball over a lot. Things started to click then y'all had to go and cripple Gasol.
I really hope they are able to convince Gasol to not play for the Spanish team this offseason.

You have no idea how excited I am for this. Splitter is quite possibly the most underrated member of this team.

I was attempting to have this conversation on the MSB, but a lot of Pels fans just aren't buying it.
The West currently has 9 teams on pace to win 50 games and the only team I can conceivable see falling off is the Mavs. Maybe y'all if y'all win a championship, so Pop & Dirk decide to ride off into the sunset. I can't see that happening because the elite system they have built in San Antonio. They will probably keep that train chugging along for a while once Pop leaves.

The only thing that will screw this up is a dumb 2 and 3. They have to be able to recognize that the switch has happened and know who exactly went high or low. Because if you start trying to feed Splitter high when he is in middle of going low, instant turnover. The 1 in this offense is nothing more than a guy that starts the motion and sets up the angles, the 2/3 are the actual decision makers in the play. Their back cuts determine who is high.
Its basically North Carolina's offense with Worthy but put sideways instead of a guy running baseline to top its a guy running wing to rim. Watch Marcelonis and Sabonis in 88 Olympics for a how to video of the offense.

They'll come around. Keep working on 'em

It's flat out insane. You need to win 50 just to get IN to the playoffs in the West these days. As the last seed. It's nuts.

It's g2b interesting once Pop and the old core call it quits. I'm more optimistic about the post-Tim future today than I was back in 2010/2011, but time will tell. The system is established but there will definitely be some changes.

The next coach of SA will scrap the Pop philosophy, unless Pop retains the VP of Ops job.

Do you think Pop wants to stick around?
Posted on 3/25/14 at 6:17 pm to TbirdSpur2010
I think he will take over USA Basketball. But then again, I also thought he was only going to coach half a season when he named himself as HC.
The guy I want to take over for Pop is in University Park right now. I think you bring him in for 2 years, let him groom the assistant that will stay 10 years and its championships.

Pulling for the Mavs to get that 8th spot.
It'd be nice if they could help us out and beat OKC while they're at it. SA's April stretch isn't gonna be easy.
