Joe Dumars & their owner are two of the last remaining anti-analytics people in basketball, which shows when you look at how that team was put together. It is also why I expected them to hire Lionel Hollins, but apparently their owner is a Michigan State guy and wants Tom Izzo.

That's true but more could be done with that team. They certainly shouldn't have fallen as far as they have. In no world should Josh Smith be playing the 3. Look at his shooting percentages. He should be playing the 4 and sometimes a stretch 4. You can't play Monroe, Drummond, and Smith together. It doesn't work. Brandon Jennings is a pretty good Pg too IMO.

They had a bunch of injuries and were some how still playing at a pretty high level. They have sort of fallen back to what you would expect with their current roster now.
