D-League to call techs for flops
NEW YORK -- The NBA Development League will begin assessing technical fouls for flops, a new rule that goes further than the NBA one by punishing the act during a game.
The NBA began to issue punishments last season for flopping, the art of exaggerating contact to deceive referees into calling a foul, but only retroactively. If a player is determined to have flopped after a postgame review, he is given a warning for the first offense and a $5,000 fine for the second.
Under the NBA D-League system that begins Thursday and runs through the end of the season, referees will note when they believe a flop occurred, then confirm it via instant replay at the next timeout or quarter break. If confirmed, the free throw will be shot at that time.

No. It was the awful contracts column.
He eviscerated the GM's. But my favorite part was his bad contracts roster. He made a god-awful team of albatross contracts that, as he said, would be guaranteed to lose 70 games. Using current contracts, it has an annual payroll of over $100 million. It was pretty brilliant.
I'm on mobile, someone got a Linky? Its on grant land.

I love those articles. He just shits on about half the GM's in the league.
I think we make one appearance in it with Tayshaun Prince, but we got that contract when we traded away Rudy Gay's much worse contract. I love our front office.

The fact that I read bill Simmons I think says enough about how good of a writer he is. The fact that I can tolerate the worlds biggest celtic homer
Thank god I'm going to miss the rest of this shite

I have a love/hate relationship. He's the absolute best in the biz at breaking down the business of the NBA. His pop culture and "I write like a fan would" shtick was cool years ago, over time it grows thin. And hes awful on TV.

As is pretty much that whole crew. When Bill isn't being a fan on tv he can at least be kinda funny

Not just that crew. His one on one interviews are cringeworthy and frustrating to watch. They could be so much more

cant sleep so I was looking up the franchises who have never made the nba finals. they are:
clippers who are currently in their 42nd season
nuggets who are currently in their 36th season
pelicans who are currently in their 24th season
wolves who are currently in their 23rd season
grizzlies who are currently in their 17th season
raptors who are currently in their 17th season
bobcats who are currently in their 8th season
who ends their drought first? my money is on the clippers

Just thinking about that statement not being a joke is remarkable.
My money would be on Memphis if I had to choose, though.

1. Clippers
2. Hard to decide between the Grizz & Pels.
We were close 2 of the last 3 seasons and if healthy I don't have any doubts we could make a run again. Plus the roster is slowly getting better. We just have to resign Zbo this offseason. Our window is obviously closing though.
I like the Pels chances if Anthony Davis spends majority of his career there. I think he is going to be special.
The rest are hard to decide between. Toronto seems to be the NBA's new darling, so I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually make a run with a little "luck" in the lottery.
There is so little parity in the league it is hard to say with LeBron and Durant in 2 separate conferences.
