One of my son's friends went down in a small aircraft on Long Island this past Sunday. The pilot (my son's friend) went through all his aviation training with my son. My son's friend survived, as did one of his two passengers. Both survivors are in need of prayers to pull through.

It appears that the accident was due to mechanical failure and not pilot error. In fact, at this point, it appears that the pilot did everything right and possible to minimize the result. He, however, given the topography, had no landing options complicated all the more by what very little time he had to work with.

This young pilot does not come from affluence. Please consider donating to his medical recovery or other expenses.

Go Fund Me

"With his hands burning, body catching fire with minimal visibility out of the cockpit with nowhere to go, he crash-landed and sustained 3rd degree burns to 70% of his body, a broken jaw, and was given a 10% chance of survival. He needs our help and support, and anything you can offer will go a long way. I love you, my friend..."

Terrible. Hearing that audio and reading the description of injuries suffered by the flight instructor is dismaying to say the least.

Prayers to all involved.
