A lot of people from up north, yes, but mostly from the northeast down here. South Fla is full of people from Pennsylvania, NY, and New Jersey. They're the bulk of our transplants but you will also meet people from all over the country. More than half the people on my street are not from Florida, myself included.

I've met tons of midwestern transplants (from states like Michigan) in Middle Tennessee. Every other person you meet now in Middle TN is from Chicago, Michigan or Ohio.
