furthermore, i still dont understand the hate for them. was there this much hate towards the lakers in the 80s? or the bulls in the 90s?

earlier today, my friend and i found a box of old VCR recordings. turns out this box held all the recordings that my grandma did of every NBA final game the lakers where in from 1980-2002. every single game from the 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2000, 2001, and 2002 finals where all there.

not really that I remember.
I think the hate was there when he started shopping for teams and did "The Decision" Magic and MJ stayed on the same teams for the waxing and waning ( I don't hold MJ's stint with the wizards to the same standards) moments of their career.
then combined with Dwayne Wade's floptastic performances and their ref-aided championship in 2006 they became the team to hate.
i'm usually not dynasty team lover (lakers in 2000s, Patriots in late 2000s, Bulls in the 90s, Bama right now) but I respect teams that assemble and then succeed for sustained periods of time through coaching and team building. Buying a team that has got some questionable calls as often as the heat has creates hate.

I can see that for 2010 when we still didn't know how great they were going to be. But the past 2 years has won me over. I'm not a fan of the team, but I don't actively root against them like I did in 2010
