ahh Billy Thompson
quote:i didnt know this. they started in 88 right? if they win this year, it will be their 3rd title which is crazy considering that would put them at a tie with the sixers and the pistons for the fifth most of all time and theyve only been around 25 years
he was a member of the original Heat team

yeah it was Thompson's third season. Seems hard to believe that the Pistons only have 3

quote:same with the sixers considering all of the all time greats they have had play for them. its just a testament to how dominant the lakers and celtics have been throughout history that the the next closest team to those two are the bulls
Seems hard to believe that the Pistons only have 3

Jeez, we really need to pass the Celtics. They've won 1 title in 25 years and are still ahead by 1. It's only right we should be on top

we would be tied if the NBA counted titles from the NBL. i went on this rant with tbird a couple pages back but the NBA really screws franchises like us, the kings, and the pistons by not counting any NBL championships and the same goes for the pacers. the pacers were the ABA but they have zero recognition for that because the NBA doesnt recognize any of those titles. we would have 17 if the nba counted the 1948 NBL title

all recordings from 1980-1991 arent the original recordings according to my grandma. she had to re record them in like 97 or something like that

Ive always thought that the top 5 teams in NBA history were (in no order) the 65 Celtics, 72 lakers, 85 lakers, 86 celtics, and 96 bulls. But I'm watching this 89 NBA final and the 89 bad boy pistons are scary good...I mean really
