easily. and its not just because of the fans to. the buss family hated the celtics, magic hated bird and vice versa. kobe hated ray allen and vice versa. i mean its not just a fan rivalry. every single part of both organizations hate each other which is what makes it so great. you just dont get that anymore

Exactly. In most cases with rivalries, except for some exceptions in college football, the players don't give near as big a shite as the fans do. With the Celtics-Lakers the players actually care more than the fans do.

i think it was cedric maxwell who said this in the bird/magic documentary (which if you havent watched you need to this very second) that right now he respects james worthy, but to this very day, if he saw him on fire, hed get a glass of water and drink it right in front of him

I can't even imagine. I haven't been alive for any Lakers game 7 losses but I am pretty beat up over this loss and Im not even a Spurs fan.
I will say, I've gained a newfound respect for the Spurs and I won't forget it. Great season and a great series
