CBS Sports.com WCF preview

Idk if I agree with their prediction or not. Too many moving parts to call this series with any confidence.

Something tells me the winner gets it done in 6, whichever team that is.

Serge Ibaka is going to miss the remainder of the postseason with a calf injury.

The only people who were clipper fans were so only because they wanted to be different and they HATE the lakers. LA is a laker/dodger town in a way that probably even a NFL team will never top

quote:

how do most people view the Clippers
they don't

Right now, before the sterling shite, the narrative wasn't "the clippers have a championship caliber team" it was "what are the Lakers going to do to fix their problems"

quote:

did only poor or bored laker fans go to their games
basically

There is a reason we call Memphis "Hoop City"

quote:

For the 2013-14 NBA regular season, Memphis actually ranked No. 1 in the country for games carried by ESPN, according to numbers provided by both ESPN and the NBA. The nationwide average rating for those games of 1.1 compared to the ratings in Memphis of 2.8 (it gets complicated, but essentially think of a ratings point as a percent of total TV households in an area).

Memphis also ranked No. 1 (out of 56 major media markets) for NBA TV regular-season games, No. 4 for games on ABC and No. 5 for games on TNT.

The numbers are also strong for college basketball — ESPN reports that Memphis ranked fifth in the nation for college basketball, with an average rating of 2.6 (Louisville was No. 1). TNT said Memphis also ranked No. 5 in ratings for the NCAA tournament games it carried.

Son of a Birch. I had a bad feeling deep in the pit of my stomach when I saw him walk to the locker room. We'll need Adams now more than ever.

At least it wasn't someone like KD, or Russ again, this is a big blow, but we're not screwed yet.

If you had asked me that a month ago I would've picked the Pacers, but seeing their unbelievable performance these past two series, I'm not so sure, but still, if a team is going to beat the Fighting Lebrons, it's the Pacers.

From what I have read today it isnt a direct quote, but whatever.

The thing I can not figure out is why people think the 7th biggest city in America is a small market.

If it was small market I guess the Admiral, Timmy, Parker, etc would have walked since only big markets win.

If I had a dollar for every NBA fan who's come up to me talking like SA is some tiny little Texas town because they've only heard the "small market" stuff, I'd be considerably wealthier than I am now

The Alamo City ain't small potatoes.
