LSU has proven on the field they’re a tier above OU

Most of us have them between 4th best SEC team to “will be mediocre.”

I bet most their fans would too, who knows. I bet Mojo will have them as a Top 3 team, hope he joins the discussion.

I don't think they'll be more than a spoiler while Venables is there. Same as us with Sark. But they usually hire good coaches and will always recruit Texas well. Long term I think they will challenge for championships every now and then.

This is a discussion brother. You didn’t see an A&M or tu in the top tiers or even in the Top 5. Where do you guys see the Sooners?

I don't think they hired the right coach for this transition. I think they win 6-7 games again this year and hold onto Venables too long and it puts them behind a bit once they join the league.

I hope they stay good but I worry they end up as an Arky-level mid-tier program. Really hard to predict.

Impossible to know, and after Brent's first year, yikes. I do think we have exceptional leadership and great fan support. Going to the SEC should open the doors to the beast on the lines of scrimmage we sorely need. I think more years than not we will have a shot. But it's going to be much more difficult. Do think adding OU and Texas will make it much harder on the big dogs Bama and UGA as well.
But that is the point, if you can survive the SEC and then make the playoff, anything can happen.
Can't friggen wait.

and after Brent's first year

If I'm being honest, this was kinda expected if you were looking at Riley basically taking most of your offensive stars to Los Angeles. This year was his first year as a HC at OK too.

He'll get better this season with a strong recruiting class and some improved gens on the roster.

No, I agree. I didn't expect to contend for the Big 12 we lost a lot. But, I also didn't think we would have the worst showing since John Blake. We lost a lot of one possession games. Hopefully we mature and win those this year. With the cancel of the UGA game, our schedule is easy as hell. 10 wins is the expectation.

I thought Oklahoma would contend for the Big 12 simply because they're Oklahoma...if you get what I'm saying ofc. I geniunely thought 9-3 would be the record last season. Nice early season start but the TCU game broke y'all (why'd you guys lose to baylor, come on). One possession games broke us too, especially when the Ags literally had no offensive plan whatsoever.

10-2 should be the expectation with your schedule and the talent coming in. The most important games on your schedule should be texas and TCU. Win those and you're probably on the road to the Big XII championship game.

Make it or break it year, you're heading to tSEC after this season, so it's important to show (not only for OK but also for tu) that you have your shite together. This conference is truly a meat-grinder.

All I have to say
