That's bull shite. Not now anyway.

If you hate New Orleans, it's because you've only been out on Bourbon or you have no taste.

Anyone that goes to a big city (outside of some of the Midwestern cities, possibly) and doesn't have a good time has one of two problems: 1) they just suck and don't have fun anywhere because they're a shitty person or 2)they just didn't go with the right people or do enough research to really know where to go.

This is very true

NOLA itself is not a "big city" though. It used to be pretty big. About a quarter of it's population never returned after Katrina though.

It's not that much bigger than BR, really, somewhere just south of a million people.
Still, most people who visit never see much outside of touristy areas.

It's still over 300,000 people. Probably not even in the top 50, but that's still relatively large. It is also a city with an interesting history and unique music and cuisine. There is no excuse for not having fun when visiting NOLA.
ETA: 300,000 was about what I heard for only NOLA, not it and the area surrounding it.

Meh. I can appreciate the history of the city. I grew up in a state that is far more rich in history though.
I like the cities of the dead. I'm really not much into partying and stuff anymore though. I like quiet.

I don't remember the last time I went to a different city that I didn't have fun. Mobile, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Tuscaloosa, and Chattanooga were all a great time recently. Hell, I had fun the last time I was in Gadsden.

Virginia is pretty neat. I'm in VA Beach right now.

I went to VA Beach one time for a wrestling camp. Never left the campus where the camp was held.
