You are not qualified to compare the two. You have only listened to 2 Sturgill songs. Until you listen to all 4 Sturgill albums in their entirety at least 3 times, you don’t get to compare them.
I, on the other hand, have listened to hours of both of them, and although I recognize Tom Petty as one of the greatest rock artists of all time, I prefer Sturgill personally.
So my opinion > your opinion

Tom Petty is indeed great

Amateur. Petty had 4 albums in his first 5 years
Petty had output and quality, stir-gills seems to be lacking as a musician

Yes he is. His outtakes are better than manys hits

Sturgill has only been around 5.5 years.
How is Sturgill lacking?

He lacks good songs broham
Duh. In that 4 album stretch petty had break down, American girl, refugee, don't do me like that, the waiting and insider.
Stir gills ain't got nothing on the Floridian turned Californian druggy

I could name 10 Sturgill songs that got universal acclaim, but you wouldn’t know them because your uncultured swine.
If Sturgill were around 40 years ago when that music was popular, he’d be played constantly on the radio.
Once again pointing out you’re not familiar with Sturgill’s music.

I could name more petty songs from those albums too, but your adhd addled zoomer brain couldn't begin to understand them. And unlike sturgill we don't have to ask what if, we know he was successful 40 years ago
Again, git gud
Again, git gud

This is your most poorly defended argument yet.
You are trying to compare a dead 80’s rock legend to a modern alt-country artist, who you’ve never even listened to.
Your argument provides no valid points until you become familiar with Sturgill.

I doubt you even know what that is.
Alt-country is just country.
“Country” is now pop

You do realize that Jason Isbell, Tyler Childers, Willie Nelson, all those guys are considered “alt-country”
You’re probably thinking it’s a mix of alt-rock and country, which would be terrifying.

That song is horrible.
There hasn't been a Bond since Sean Connery and Roger Moore.
Cubby Broccoli must be spinning in his grave over what has been done to the Bond series.

Thanks, how'd we thread from Belle d'Murmurer to Tom Petty to Sturgill before finally getting back to, is this song turrrible?
BTW: who repeatedly watches a movie they don't like . . .
?
Then cares so little as to write 5 more paragraphs why
?

Ive seen it 3 times, and the reason for this is that
I think to myself "it cant be as bad as I remember, everyone else says its good, maybe I didn't give it a fair shake."
Before I watched it again a couple months ago it had been several years since last I watched it.
As to the five paragraphs, well, I feel the need to defend my opinion of not liking as so many praise it to the heavens claiming it to be one of the best Bond movies. Also this is a message board, discussion can get involved
Also this is the Off Topic Board, threads tend to lose sight of their original purpose quickly

The emo mumble shite sucks arse. Strange to go for a Teen for Craig’s Bond. People say she can sing. I’ve yet to hear it. Her style is aggravating to listen to.
