Sounds like she has someone she wants to pursue and see where it goes. She is telling you a break so she can keep you on a string if it doesn’t pan out.
Go live your life like she is gone. If she comes back you can decide what you want at that time. Go do you and do what makes you happy. Like someone else said it is your time to be a little selfish.
