I'm the same way. Conversational speech is much different and relaxed than written speech for me.

I can be "that guy" when it comes to grammar and punctuation.

I don't like it when I am talking to someone and make up words which perfectly convey what I wanted to convey in far less time that it would have taken if I didn't make up the words and the people choose to call me out on it or pretend like they don't follow what I am saying.

oh i just looked i see one right up close to the op: It's a bunch of ignorant arse people in this world.

i guess i've become so accustomed to it that it's not one that bothers me- now should/would/could of is a whole other story.

edit: i take back that accustomed to bit- i see wmr's examples, i just don't happen to know many people that use 'it's' like that, fortunately.

I absolutely hate when people don't put an "s" on the end of a word where an "s" should be.

Like "He need to call me." Is it really hard to just add one extra fricking letter?

Also when people misspell definitely as defiantly.

The incorrect use of affect/effect bothers me.

That's actually a talent. Word mashups are great for this.

I'm really annoyed by people that constantly use the word like. I want to drop a penny in a coffee can every time they say it so they can be as annoyed as I am.

So you'd say you're highly affected by it?

I know what you mean. It seems to me that there are too few people who know the appropriate usage of "affect" and use effect instead.

Also, the confusion over to/too/two. It boggles my mind that someone can can confuse the number with the infinitive particle/preposition and the adverb.

Correctify, as in "I had to correctify the situation." I almost laughed when I heard someone use that mashup.

Don't all yall have more important shite too do then worry about grammer.

quote:

don't put an "s" on the end of a word where an "s" should be

Along with the others listed, this one gets me too. My dad used to say shite like "ten mile down the road" or "a few gallon of gas". It drove me crazy as a kid, but it cracks me up now.

Oh, and "warsh" clothes...I always get a good case of the chuckles from that one.
