Certain parts about it need to die. And some things need to be let go. Can't hang on to every tradition and expect to progress into the future. That's just not how the world works.

I think we should all drink a beer and listen to Southern Culture on The Skids. Maybe a little Camel Walk....don't go round hungry!

There is a HUGE uptick in all things southern culture. The entire US is fascinated by southern food and fine restaurants everywhere are serving riffs on southern staples. A hugely successful magazine, Garden and Gun, is dedicated go nothing but the South. Then there's the longstanding highbrow version, the Oxford American, which still gets major love in the literary world. On op of that, the number of clothing companies that use genteel southern regionalism as part of their brand identity is mind boggling.

It may be peaking and headed out of style, but the love of southern culture is huge right now.
