Not true
Key is to live close to a distribution center.
One of their first went up near the Coke plant in CKY. If you live in the area (like some of my cousins) you can get deliveries in just a few hours if it hits right.

If they have oil pumpers in the fields near from like the 1930's I have an idea.
KKK HQ used to be in IN as was the old oilman club. Folks forget one of the Rockefeller Oil Trusts was Standard Oil of Indiana.

Yeah I know it was. One of the towns in a county near where I was from had the gallows out on display still up until a few decades ago iirc.
One of my teachers in high school was supposedly a klan member too, don't know if I believe it though. Dude was older and had been born and raised in said town, that doesn't make him kkk

Just being from certain parts of southern IN and not being Catholic meant the probability was pretty good. Have in - laws in Jasper and still a Klan feel there today when I visit.

Can you post some evidence for this? Wiki says it was in Atlanta in the 1920s, and Tuscaloosa by the 1980s, but no mention of a Headquarters ever being in Indiana.

Yea it was a branch of the Klan, the Indiana Klan. Of course the Indiana Klan had a HQs in Indiana, because it was an Indiana based organization. The national klan, the klan to which Southerners would have belonged to, did not have a headquarters in the state of Indiana to my knowledge.

The 2nd Klan is what revived the Klan nationally I believe. I’m going off memory from College it was the political arm of the Klan. I believe it was you had to have its support to be elected

Just from general life knowledge but probably out there in some library. As a kid it seemed the KKK was more visible in Indiana and the surrounding states than it ever was in the south.
The KKK most think of but died out was the one after the Civil War
The KKK that had the biggest base (like millions of members) was the one in Indiana that flourished between WWI and WWII and had the anti Catholic lean as much as an anti black lean. I think about half of the adult males in the state were KKK members at peak and it controlled state politics and some national politics. As Notre Dame was in Indiana at the time and the affect it had on many of the B1G members at the time it is why the Irish never joined the B1G and probably never will.

Civi War phase - the one you see in movies
WWI to WWII phase - the one with the highest membership
Current phase - Old KKK mixed with Nazis after WWII

KKK is outside of Harrison, AR now led by the Robb family. I have ended up on their compound by accident - in a GOV vehicle no less - but they are just white trash idiots living in their own little world.
