Damn, hate to hear you lost a barn.
How’d your herd hold up?
All head present & accounted for?

Thanks

Didn't lose any so I was lucky with that. Supposed to have a contractor call me soon about building a new barn. Hate for cattle to not have any cover in storms and during the winter and this is a place I always run cattle on year around.

Good to hear that it wasn’t any worse…
…and you’re still able to keep moving ‘em on & heading ‘em up.

I hate when storms tear up barns in hot weather. They never go down when the weathers nice and cool outside.
New one will be all steel. So far I haven't lost any steel barns.

Neighbors crop next to one of our other places. This crop was standing over a foot tall before the storm High winds and hail leveled it.

There was a large flock of geese that landed in a field near me here while back and a large hail storm came through and killed most all of them. Weather can be brutal and doesn’t discriminate.

Thanks Pio but.....
I know my skills so I'm hiring it done I want it done right..

Funny story from a few years ago I was looking at contractors to build a 40x80 shop. One guy wanted $11,000 for labor and said it would take about 30 days to build it. It was a kit. The guy I hired was $6000 in labor and he built it in 4 days.

I haven't seen anything that bad thats wild.
It's funny watching my cattle haul arse to the barn when a storms coming or hits.

4 years ago I saw my cattle head to the barn right before I headed down into the cellar. When I come out I looked down where the barn was the barn was gone but all of the cattle were still standing in the same spot where the barn once stood. Got lucky that day no cattle were injured. Had a smaller 24x24 barn 15 feet north of the 30x50 that the storm took and it didnt even have a scratch.

I'm assuming you mean a pole barn? I did that for a bit when I was young.
30 days is ridiculous.
But 4 days is pretty fast. We had a 3 man crew and would usually take about 5-7 days. Hanging the trusses by hand, no cranes. Heavy as hell.
Paid really good though.

This has been a wild couple of months weather wise. Rogers is mostly recovered from the tornado that hit us but I know of some folks that lost pretty much everything. Waiting for insurance isn't easy when you don't have a roof over your head.

Yes these barns were pole barns. I have been replacing them with the red iron buildings. This replacement barn will be a weld up job since it's not as big.

kywildcatfanone everyones fine. One cattle herd was close to a bad wide hail core but they are all OK. Minimal hail damage a few dings in a brand new cow barn.
Pio I'm not putting myself down. I just know God gave us all different skills and setting up barns are not any of my skills.

Arksulli the weather has definitely swung from one extreme to the other thats why I like fall and winter.

Glad we are seeing rain. For a while the storms would form east of I-35 in OK missing us and then would go beat the hell out of eastern OK and western Arkansas.
I watched our 5:00 pm Local weather. A line of storms had previously formed and moved east and they called us in the clear.
NO RAIN FOR YOU GUYS THE REST OF THE NIGHT ITS OVER FOR YOU.
An hour to 1.5 hours later all hell broke loose heavy rain, hail and 80-85 mph winds.
