Cobain's voice was very unique and very raspy. I loved it. He was the voice of grunge. I think Nirvana as a band was a bit overrated, but Nevermind was one of the best albums ever. Literally every song on there was a hit. I listen to the unplugged album every week.

Cobain wasn't a great guitarist either, but he made up for it due to his song writing and voice.
