It's been this way for 30 years. It started with the Reagan administration and the Iran-Contra scandal. The ones that eventually took the fall for it, were all pardoned by George Bush. The main fall guy(Ollie North) is now a regular on Fox News.
I'm sure you hate Reagan, but even you should be smart enough to know this assertion is utter bullshait. People at the highest levels of government have been breaking the law and getting away with it quite literally since the founding of the nation - and if you go outside the US, since the founding of government itself. To say 'it started with Reagan' is hilarious.

Are there different rules for people in higher positions? Absolutely, but this isn't a new revelation. It's been that way for quite some time.
You and I differ very much politically but you're spot on here. That's just part of the advantages that come with power. Sandy Berger walked out of the National Archives with documents stuffed in his underwear and got a slap on the wrist. Even if she did every single thing being alleged, convicting HRC of any e-mail crime would be impossible. That's just one of the trappings of power and it will never change.

Simple.
Hire lawyers to delete emails
FBI says you showed no intent to delete them.
The fix was in from day 1.
The criminal is James Comey. And guess who would have to go after him, the DOJ. Except, the DOJ are the ones who got to him. So he skates free with Hillary.

Don't worry about his vote. I'll be cancelling it out with mine.
Along that same train of thought, I wish there was a source where you could accurately weigh voter enthusiasm nationwide.
This is entirely anecdotal (and probably weak at that), but my volunteer FD does EMS standby at a large outdoor market every month. The November one was Saturday. Our crowd is a very diverse demographic with a big mix of white, black, and hispanic customers. In both 2008 and 2012, there was a pretty even mix of people wearing hats and shirts for Obama and the (R) candidate each year. On Saturday, I didn't see a single HRC sign, shirt, or anything else but Trump stuff was everywhere. I even saw several black shoppers wearing Trump shirts.
This is Alabama, so it isn't surprising that Trump had a heavy representation but the total lack of any for HRC was very surprising. I'm always suspicious when people talk about 'silent majorities' and 'enthusiasm gaps' because they rarely materialize at the polls but it really made me genuinely curious about what it is like around the country and if others are seeing the same thing.

I did see some Hillary signs this morning in Beaufort, SC of all places. I wouldn't have noticed if not for the fact that I hadn't seen any anywhere else in the state.

I'll be doing my civic duty tomorrow but I won't be voting for Hillary or horse hair.
I'll be writing someone in.
I'll be writing someone in.

I was gonna write in Daffy Duck, but now I'm gonna MAGA.
Not that it matters in SC

i've called all the elections correctly since 2000 without a single surprise (if you take 2000 florida out of the picture.)
i have no idea what is happening tomorrow.

The only thing I know for certain is tomorrow will not settle who will be the 45th President. I truly believe the courts are going to have to settle it much like 2000 and in the end we all lose, no matter who wins the court case.

Here is my not-so-bold prediction...
I think people are overestimating this silent Trump support, while underestimating Latino turnout. I do think there are a lot of voters out there that will vote for Trump that have been reluctant to publicly admit/display that support, but I think there are many Hillary voters in the same boat. They will effectually cancel each other out. Meanwhile, a lot of the public polls have under polled the Latino population, and that population is going to play a big role in New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and to a degree Texas. I don't think Hillary wins all 4 of those, but I think she wins 2, while giving Trump a scare in Arizona and making it closer than anticipated in Texas.
I think Hillary wins and does so with close to 300 electoral votes. I think the ultimate difference will be her GOTV efforts. Trump's campaign is relying on a LOT of first time voters, who are historically unreliable to show up to the polls. Couple that with an almost non-existent GOTV campaign, and it spells trouble for Trump.

I'm with 3nOut.
In past elections, I've had a pretty solid feeling for how it would turn out even when I hoped to be wrong.
I have utterly NO clue what will happen. I wouldn't be any more surprised to see you right and HRC win by a big margin than I would be to seeing a Trump groundswell bring Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania into the GOP column.

Only outcome that would surprise me is a Trump landslide. He has to turn too many blue states red for that to happen. He'd basically have to sweep every single swing state, and almost every poll has had Clinton with comfortable leads in PA and WI.

maybe it's just different political side of the aisle we're on. i could seriously see us shocked tomorrow night to see trump win NV, NM, CO, WI, MI, NH, OH and PA and be like WTF. but it's believable to me. and i could also see Trump only winning middle of the country and getting trounced.

Of those, I'd be shocked if Trump won PA and/or NV. But I admit I may be reading too much into some reporting I read over the weekend. In NV, just seems like early voting heavily favored Clinton to the point where her lead is almost insurmountable. In PA, Robert Costa(a reporter that is usually very fair) traveled the state this weekend and came away surprised at the level of support Clinton has in the Philly and Pittsburgh suburbs. The Philly suburbs basically delivered the state to Obama, so that is a good sign for Hillary if what he senses comes to fruition.
The rest of those are true toss-ups, and it is totally believable for him to win them all. The possibility of it is pretty small, but it could still happen.

if he was "shocked" then he's a moron. Philly and Pitt are always blue.
