Separate but equal is inherently unequal. There is no equal opportunity somewhere else. You may not agree with that, but most rational people do. Alabama is one of the only two colleges in the state with any sort of national reputation. If a black girl growing up in Alabama wanted to go to Alabama and get a business degree and be a leading member in the greek community she couldn't be. Simply because of her skin color.

If this is real, this is awesome. I need access to deltaland's Facebook. What's his irl name?

Even so it's irrelevant -- what he stated was accurate regardless of his personal life.

It's not accurate, though.

Not going to give up his public information, but I do have screenshots.

I blurred out his name and posted it to reddit a while back when someone asked if racism is still a problem in Mississippi.

I don't believe the majority of Mississippians are racist nowadays, but it is still a problem.

Obviously, seeing his post here and all the upvotes on it made me gag.

Honestly, I feel like you should be put on blast. I've seen the most disgusting and hateful things on your facebook. Dropping repeated nbombs and the like because you were mad Obama won. You have so much hate for black people it is actually borderline psychotic. You say all of these things about how to come up in the world, yet call our president a n***er. How does that even make sense?

You are the last person who needs to tell minorities how to gain their ranks in this world.

You, nor I, know what it's like to grow up and live in the current state of affairs with black skin color. You have no idea, so stop pretending like you have the answers.

Seriously, this system does not benefit you if you are a poor white male at all.

Lifes not fair. But then again a poor female of any skin color couldn't go work in the South Texas oil field and make six figures right now. A poor white male without a high school diploma could.

That's not cool. Its just drama.

I think the reason a lot of white people don't like hearing about race advantage is because they had to work for everything they had and they never had this supposed privilege.

It rubs a lot of people I know the wrong way.

How is it not? He says if you want to be treated a certain way, then here are how to fix those problems.

At the same time, he calls the president the n word. Obviously, the president has more than earned his way to do all the things he's listed.

Explain to me how that's not contradictory?

Call me what you will, but he put it out in a public forum.

I removed his likeness from it. It's his words not mine.

You could make the exact same argument for Alabama State and Alabama A&M regarding whites.

Let's be honest here, if you got a full ride from Bama, Auburn, ASU, and A&M, are you really going to actually consider going to ASU and A&M over Bama and Auburn? Would you consider going to FAMU and Bethune-Cookman over Florida and Florida State? No white person wants to go to these schools.

Can you provide a link to the reddit page?

There was always something about Deltaland that seemed a bet off to me. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

1. Get an education. It opens doors to better paying jobs and college scholarships. -- Objectively a good thing regardless of alleged racism.

2. Open a bank account. Build credit. Make smart financial decisions...don't cash your checks at the Indian store. Good credit leads to a plethora of privilege -- Objective.

3. Dress appropriate. Perception is reality. You can make yourself look more important than you really are and gain unearned respect simply by dressing and carrying yourself right. -- Objective

4. When starting a job, work hard, show motivation, listen to your superiors and keep your mouth shut even if they are wrong. -- Objective

5. Stay away from drugs and crime. If you want people to stop acting weird around minorities or stopping to ask what you're doing in this neighborhood, etc then don't portray the stereotype. This is a overall culture change that must occur.., don't say it's false because statistics show otherwise. -- Objective

6. Don't have kids before you're ready. This will force you to end any aspirations you may have and take any job just to get by. It closes a lot of doors to opportunity. Wait until you achieve relative success and have a stable income. -- Objective

--------------

These things work for anyone regardless of race.

Sweat saves blood.

Blood saves lives.

Brains save both.

That the author was a Nazi doesn't detract from the fact that that statement is true.

Yet, a black girl born in Birmingham in the 50's, grew up, attended Stanford and was Secretary of State for the United States. Despite "white privilege".

In Louisiana, I know several African American men and women that went to a reputable school and were in the greek system. They were in all black frats and sororities but greek none-the-less. They worked hard, got their degree and were leaders in the greek community. Many of them used the ties that they made in college to get their first jobs.

Did you not read my full post? I don't disagree with the points about making your way through the world, but he still contradicts himself by his actions.

Regardless of how hard someone works, there are still people in this world who will look at people with the opposite skin color and hate them.
